More progress and a prayer request

Emma got her Central line and her Right Atrial line out! These are the two lines that go directly to the heart, so now I might be able to hold her a little later. I don't want to push it because she hasn't been comfortable when awake yet, so I don't want to make her even more uncomfortable by moving her yet. She doesn't like being moved back up in bed when she slides (or intentionally moves!) down in the bed.

Emma's needed the pacemaker just a few times today and we hope to have that, maybe the drain tube, and possibly her arterial line taken out tomorrow. The only bad thing is that the arterial line allows blood draws, so I kindof hope they let her hold on to that for a little longer before taking it out so they don't have to stick her for blood.

As for the prayer request, please pray that Emma's lungs will dry up on their own. She is really rattley and has some fluid going on which needs to be taken care of. She'll cough just a little bit but that has to be really painful to do with the chest incision.

I'll post some pictures in just a little bit, she looks much better today! This kid is amazing, and I know God is enjoying each little miracle that testifies of His goodness!!

  1. Dry lungs, dry lungs, dry lungs. Yes, that is Hannah whispering a prayer right now. I showed her Emma's surgery pictures (she has similar ones of her own surgery which she loves to inspect), and she promptly looked at the bed until she found Emma's toy (baby? Gloworm? can't quite tell). She wanted to be sure that Emma had a special thing with her for when you are not able to be by her side.

Praising God for all the blessings in healing and recovery.

  5. Praying and continuing to watch the blog for your updates. What a fun day we had with your little B., and it was good to see your mom as well. Sarah really enjoyed the day and we all got in on the fun of that little B. She's quite a girl! I cannot wait to have the same privilege with Emma.

    Love and hugs,
    Karen W.

  8. Reading your post has brightened my day. Prayed for Emma along with Jesse today when Father came to see us. God is miraculous, as you and I can atest with our children.
