They called around 8 and the PICC line is in. This is a line that will give the doctors and nurses access to the heart instead of having to redo IV's that seem to be in short supply for Emma. It's in the arm (we think- could have done a foot I understand) and is basically a tiny tiny tube that runs through the vein all the way to the heart. I will update as we can from the Family Waiting Room.
I got a 'surprise' phone message this morning from our friends Angela and Mike who we met during Brianna's open heart surgery. Their son, E, had his open heart the day before Brianna and is just a few weeks difference in age (and also has Down syndrome!). Anglela and Mike are going to come up in a little bit and spend some of the waiting time with us. We haven't seen them in a while and our family's grown by 2 and theirs by 1 since we last got together. It'll be nice to see them again and to have their company as well.
