Lots to say, lots to post, and lots to update on! But... I'm tired :)
So, I'm going to ask you a question instead, and save the blogging for tomorrow when I will have some TIME by MYSELF :) :) :)
For now... how did you find me? When did you first read our blog, and how did you come across it? Do you know us in real life? Did you find us on FaceBook? Did you find us randomly?
I recently got a phone call from someone who (to my knowledge) found us randomly. It was interesting talking to her, and I wondered... how did other people find us?
Fess up :) I think it would be fun to know!
I found you through another blog, but I can't remember whose! Love your beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Amberlyn when they were in the process of adopting Ana. I started reading your blog regularly when you first found out you might be able to adopt Aleksa in addition to Wesley.
ReplyDeleteI found you through another blog, too, while you were in the process of adopting Emma and Micah. And I like your writing style.
ReplyDeleteErin
I found you through another blog too! I also then emailed you (and your were so gracious to answer)with some questions regarding adoption. We are almost finalized on our little one's adoption! Woo Hoo!!! We will be doing the adoption dance on Sept 19th! :) Anyways, I have come to love your perspective and the stories about your family.
ReplyDeleteDannette
I think I found you through RR. I know it was during your first adoption. You went shortly behind us to Ukraine. We were there June 2007 for Joey, and I started following a few blogs through RR. We have not met in person (yet), but I would love to, sometime. I enjoy reading your blog, one of the very few I consistently follow.
ReplyDeleteMary Stolz
through someone from RR I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteYou gave me your blog address when you were our dossier coordinator. I don't read your blog often because I'm busy and forget to check it, but when I do, it's always good! :)
ReplyDeleteYou showed up at my school, church and brownie troop somewhere around 2nd grade. I'm sure you remember better the year you made the move to small town FL. I love reading your blog and sharing it with other people who all go Wow! I even get a chance to share some of your advice and review with some of the family I get to work with 3000 miles away!
ReplyDeleteI think, but I'm not sure, that I found you from Jan Stricklin's blog http://herecomesnumberthree.blogspot.com/. She was adopting a daughter from Taiwan at the same time our family was, and she has a son with Down syndrome.
ReplyDeleteOn my second day of Junior High one of my teachers made this cute chic carry my books for me (foot in cast, long story) and well, that was you.... And the rest is history!
ReplyDeleteMike Cornish
DSACF : ) But I'm sure I would've found you on RR if I looked long enough. I love reading the already home pages...
ReplyDeleterandomly :)
ReplyDeleteUkrainian adoption blogs, Reece's Rainbow, and then so thrilled you came to see me and Ruth when she had her surgery in West Palm Beach! So glad we have MET! :)
ReplyDeleteYou already know how I found you, but for the sake of an answer...RR. :) :)
ReplyDeleteI found you through Urban's blog. If I remember correctly you were both adopting around the same time and I loved reading about the "in-country" time from both of your perspectives. My family has prayed for your family through your first adoptions and Emma's surgery. Our hearts were torn for a sweet boy who later became your Wesley so we have been along for your journey and love every minute!!
ReplyDeleteWe too talk of your family often to others because your family inspires, encourages and blesses us.
Thank you!!
I found you thru RR. I'm so blessed I got to dine with you 2x in Kiev! :-) How you have time to keep up your blog, I have no idea, but I love it and have learned SO much from it. (Now if we would just get that iPad. LOL) I really appreciate how you take the time to do "mommy educational" posts as well as the updates on the kids and life. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI found you through another blog too, although I unfortunately don't remember which one.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember where I first found you. Seems like I've 'known' you since Danny was born...but I know it was sometime after. Don't remember if you were on downsyn...but I do know of a little place in cyber world where I can find you:) I remember following your first journey to Aleska where you brought home Emma and Micah...so it was at least back in 2008. We haven't met in person, but I have a feeling 2011 might be the year :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I came upon your Blog but it was when you adopted Emma and Micah. They have both come so far !
ReplyDeleteLove following all your adventures.
I'm a member of an online mothering group called GCM. It has an adoption forum and one of the moms posted about Wesley (then "Monroe") asking for prayers for him along with a link to this site
ReplyDeletehttp://sisterhaiti.wordpress.com/about/
to learn more.
I read about him and was so heartbroken I didn't sleep for days. I kept checking every day to see if he had a family. Somehow, either through the sisterhaiti blog or a link from it to RR, I found you when I learned you were adopting him!
Been reading ever since, and will keep reading as long as you keep posting :)
I found your blog through RR in January 2010 during your second adoption.
ReplyDeleteI found you from Christine Reed's blog around the time they were helping with Daniel's re-homing... so it was like two years ago?
ReplyDeleteI dont remember what blog I got your link off of, but I have been reading since before you brought Micah and Emma home and have watched them grow and thrive! Love your blog
ReplyDeleteBecky
I found you when you committed to Wesley. Love watching your family and getting up dates on how everybody is doing.
ReplyDeleteIm not really sure how I found you. but the cirst couple days I began blogging I found your blog (and Renee Garcia) You were just home I think maybe a week with B and M. Been hooked on those cute cornish kiddos ever since.
ReplyDeleteLove all of the school updates. Praying it goes smoothly. I know I say this often but I suppose with the odds so stacked against her Emma amazes me. To see that beautiful face with such life and she is standing so well, she looks like such a big girl
Oh and do J and M look alike in person b/c they do in a lot of picts.
Found you through Hope for every child blog
ReplyDeleteFound you on RR!!
ReplyDeleteI found you through RR when we had inquired about your dear Wesley! :) I love that name, one of our sons has Wesley as a middle name. Anyway, that is how I came to know you, and now we are in country adopting two boys, and just had our appointment with the adoption authority this morning. We meet our boys on Monday for the first time! :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend Joy gave me address of your blog, where i found you in 2010 ( in september). In few days we met one other what i did not expect and that was very interesting and great. The rest story you know. :))) Love to read how kids are doing!
ReplyDeleteLove, Alla
I found you when you committed to Wesley.
ReplyDeleteI found you at the same time I found Reece's Rainbow. I can't remember how long ago that was... it was before James' adoption was final. I found your "A Year in Pictures (And a Few Words)" http://cornishadoptionjourney.blogspot.com/2008/12/year-in-pictures-and-few-words.html and that made a big impact on me!
ReplyDeleteI started following when I started blogging, sometime before James' adoption was final. I think I found you through a forum, but it may have been someone else's blog. I love how you write about life, kids, adult perspective and how you bring your faith into it as well. You've taught me so much. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI found you through another blog when folks were posting about finding a family for Wesley. I was so happy when you guys commited to him. I had been praying for him.
ReplyDeleteStacye
I'm a mom from downsyn. I started followıng your blog around the tıme you comıtted to Wesley.I love followıng the people that are "ın coutry" and the home comıngs on RR and then to see the transformatıon of. The chıldren.
ReplyDeleteAnd then I'm drawn to the way you handle everythıng and all the challenges. You are very ınformatıve.Blessıngs to you
I found your blog on Reece's Rainbow when you were working to bring home Wesley and then Aleksa. I have been hooked ever since. I love how you share your life and the real struggles you face with all the kids. I plan to adopt special needs kiddos and really appreciate hearing about your experiences both during the adoption process and once home.
ReplyDeleteI found you through another RR family's blog! Was reading the U guide book today and realized you compiled it.
ReplyDeleteWhen we (my husband and I) first started talking seriously about adoption.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember exactly how I found you but I know it was WAY back when we were first looking at adopting and thought about possibly special needs. I may have found you thru RR or RR thru you. I've forgotten. I do know that you had only had Emma and Micah home for a little while. I remember a pic of all four of your kids on a couch and how your baby, Brianna :), was bigger than one or maybe both of the new kids even though they were older.
ReplyDeletei missed this post. just saw your recent comment and came back looking for it. =) i don't know you. early this year found your blog thru my niece's blog. she & her husband recently adopted a child thru rr.
ReplyDeleteI a post advocating for "Manroe", then another saying that he had a $20,000 grant. When his face apeared on the "committed families" page on RR I checked out your blog. I enjoyed hearing about Wesley and Aleksa's adoption story. -- now I read the blog from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI found you because you were my adoption coordinator, and walked me through the paperwork, along with some other gals. I can never thank you enough. I tried to show my thanks, by inviting you to stay with us in the Ukraine. Remember the bathroom door? What a fun time we had! I miss you and Michael, and I like to keep up with what's going on with your whole gang. The pictures of the kids were beautiful, and I'm so happy James is doing better.
ReplyDeleteLove always, Laura
I met you when we were adopting Dennis-- I think. :)
ReplyDeleteFound you long ago - maybe 2007 - when we began our first Ukraine adoption journey.

About 14 months ago I was reading and reading about Haiti and eventually through that I ended up discovering blogs from people who are or were adopting. Linking either through blogrolls and/or comments I ended up finding your blog, probably about 6 months ago. It might seem random but I feel like God specifically led me to specific blogs in the adoptive world and to the Reece's Rainbow website. It is like a whole new world has been opened up to me. Certainly I have been blessed by reading these blogs. It is great to see what God is doing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I found your blog, I went back and read about your last adoption. It is so incredible how God led you to your eldest daughter. Thank you for sharing your life and experiences with us!
