NEW SURGERY DATE!

Just got the call... we have pre-op testing on Aug 1st 10am and her surgery will be the following MONDAY, AUGUST 4th!

This is a result of my cardiologist getting on there and they did end up bumping another surgery- but they agree that it was really necessary and I'm sure the other person got our spot- 10 days later. I hate that it works that way, but I'm so glad that Emma can be in there sooner. Happy and scary at the same time. I'm off to a movie at the THEATER with the kids (and some friends;) ) but wanted to share the news. THANK YOU SO MUCH for praying!

Please pray that the family of whomever got bumped will be glad to have a little more time with their kiddo before surgery. It's a catch-22 of feelings there..

  1. That's wonderful! The other family would not have been bumped if their case was as critical as Miss Emma. Having been one of the 'bumped' cases, I can attest that it is fine to be bumped. (even a relief of sorts)

  2. I'm so thankful to hear that Miss E's date was changed to a little quicker. We didn't have the 'bump' process happen with us for the date, but we did end up being the 3rd slot of the day due to an emergency that not only took Dom's first spot of the day but also the second kiddo in line for the day. While Dom didn't get bumped too far, I know that someone else did- and it is a bittersweet feeling but you have to trust that the doctors KNOW who can wait a little longer and who needs it done ASAP. In our thoughts and prayers....

  4. So you get your original surgeon right? Great news! I agree that getting bumped back can be a relief in a way. I'm so relieved that Emma will get in a bit sooner.

  6. i'm so happy for you guys. the other family probably realizes that a surgeon doesn't bump a patient unless it is REALLY necessary - hopefully they'll see it as allowing a litte kid with a more serious situation to get help sooner. praying for you, then, Emma, and the doctors caring for her.

  8. What a relief to have Emma's surgery date decided at last - the uncertainty had to have been so wearing for you. I will update my church's prayer list with this new information.

Wishing Emma, her family, and all concerned (including the "bumpee" and their family) the very best...

    Take care,
    Susan in Ky

  11. Praise God! We continue to pray that Emma's health holds out for the surgery. And that mom and dad find peace and rest each day until then.

  12. Praise be to God! We just finished our prayers for night-nights with Braska, and we spent some time on Miss Emma! We'll pray for the other family as well, and I'm sure that it will work out for everyone best in the end.

  13. Wes got bumped too and I promise you we didn't mind. We knew very well that some other child needed the docs more than we did. I'm so glad they moved up the date.

  15. Yes!!! I read this the other day and I am just now being able to respond (sorry!). Praise God! I have HOPE.

Ok, I saw something on the news yesterday about giving children with PH viagra. Has this been suggested to you? Christina knows someone who's child is on it too.
