Garage Sale Benefit and Poker Run

These events are for the Benjamin Cornish Memorial Fund, Inc. It is NOT FOR A SPECIFIC FAMILY. This fund has helped several families now and I'm sure there are many others that would benefit from their help as well. If you have items you'd like to donate for the garage sale give them a call or if you enjoy attending garage sales, please stop in! The Poker Run is coming up quickly too! If you're not familiar with these, the motorcyclists go from place to place to fill their "hand" of poker cards randomly at each stop. At the end the person with the best hand gets a percentage of the night's earnings. Generally there is a festivity at the end such as a BBQ or breakfast earlier in with "plates for sale".

The name of this fund is similar to ours... in fact it was formed in memory of Mike's brother, Benjamin, who passed away from childhood cancer when he was almost 8 years old. He did not have Ds. The fund was created when Mike's parents saw the need for funding for families adopting children with Ds internationally as well as their health and care after coming home. Our garage sale in Jan/Feb while I was in Ukraine was hosted by this fund and those proceeds did go to our family. Now they are helping other families to get a start on their funding. The fund was named to honor their son's memory with another worthwhile cause :)

The ride starts at American Legion Post 1 in Titusville, then to Post 53 in Sanford, Post 242 in Bithlo, Post 22 in Cocoa, New York New York then back to Post 1 for food and fun!
