It's been such a BUSY weekend! Today we got things done around the house, finished up getting together my things for travel, packed, set aside things for the 2nd trip in case I'm running in and out of the country and not actually staying for a week or more as we'd planned...
My sister and her *new fiance* :) (he proposed on Friday! YAY!) are down and we had a big family dinner with 3 of my siblings, my 2 uncles and my parents and everyone's spouses :). And... Lynae, since she's the only one not in school.
Mike had the day off since he worked all day Sunday, and he and I got to spend the day together, which was really nice! We picked the kids up from school then headed to Wal-Mart to pick up a few last minute things. Then, since they didn't have everything, we went to Target to get the rest :).
Home, and Elizabeth (sister), Jim, and my mom were at our house waiting for Jim to meet the kids and for them to get to see Aunt Elizabeth for a bit. We ordered dinner (Delivery, which we never do!) with gift certificates and then ate, got the kids ready for bed, and put them down. It was a whirlwind!
We still have 2 things we forgot to pick up from Wal-Mart so will be heading back out there later tonight.
So... what did I forget?? :)
My "family care book" is almost finished, just needing a few last touches then I'll email it out to the caregivers and print a copy for here... And then the messy house may be the only aftermath of my week-long writing, gathering, and planning!!
**I will be sending out invites to a few close friends and family (the list will be about 20 people, so please don't be offended if you're not invited...) to be able to share some details of things which I cannot share publicly, and which I feel should be shared. This is my way of being able to be as forthcoming and open as possible on this public blog without making it private. I only am posting this here so those people will go ahead and accept that invite even though this one is open to the public ;)
12 hours... time to fly!
We'll keep you in our prayers as you begin your journey to bring Monroe home (praying for the little girl too that the doors may open) Excited for you!

ReplyDeletePsalm 121:
I lift my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip--
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you--
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm--
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
I thought of this psalm as I read your post. The Lord will watch over your coming and going [to and from Ukraine] both now and forevermore. :)
Congratulations to Elizabeth! Know that you are not alone on this trip, everyone and most everything will be right where you left it upon your return. We are excited to read about your journeys and watching as your amazing family grows. I am glad that we are still friends after so many years!
