Anyone want to suggest some NAMES??
We'd like something fairly recognizable, definitely gender-specific (girl), and not super popular as far as a name that's either the new top 10 or one that there are always 10,000 in every school classroom (Jessica, Jennifer, Amanda...).
And for a middle name, we want either a Biblical female, or another 'word' that has a Biblical backing, such as Emma Hope :)
So... thoughts??
I love names Sarah faith maybe?Picking names for our kids was always so hard.
ReplyDeleteI love the name Brighton. It reminds of the bright hope that Jesus brings us when we accept him as savior. I love the middle name Faith.
ReplyDeleteI'll start thinking about first names..... but, I love 'faith' as a middle name because your family has shown ours, and probably hundreds more, what faith is.
ReplyDeleteOur girls names are Amaya and Paige and everyone love their names. It is also very nice that there aren't a zillion Amaya and Paige's out there.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention this. I was sitting in church Sunday when I decided if I was ever to have another child(won't happen) and it was a girl, it would be Trinity Grace. I can't think of anything more biblical than that.
ReplyDeleteI love names. I found an awesome site once that suggested names based on other names you liked, but I'm not finding it again. However, I found this one http://www.babynamebrainstorm.com/search/ that looks maybe even cooler. You can search based on popularity, sound (number of syllables), and "vintage" (or decade when it was most popular, I think. . .).
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like Sophia (which means wisdom) and I currently really like the name Verity Grace (Verity comes from the Latin for truth, so it has a great meaning) and Eliana is really pretty, but might be too similar to Briana, plus you'd have two kids with E names.
Grace is a great middle name, also happens to be Catherine's middle name:). I also love Isabelle for a first name....WIlliam was going to be Caroline Rose if he was a girl
ReplyDeleteOur Pastors grand-daughter is named "Gracie-Faith" to begin with I wasn't sure I liked it-but believe me it grows on you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are Sarah, Sophia, and Isabelle...they've already been mentioned, but I figured I'd give my vote for them again. I also like Ruth. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteBased on your other kids I really like Sarah. You just look like you should have a Sarah in your house. I love Maria too. Other names - Morgan, Katie, Peyton, wow I am drawing such a blank!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Mary? Not a bad name, if I do say so myself :-) Easily recognizable as a biblical name by even those unfamiliar with the bible. It's also less common as a first name nowadays.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Susanna (the name of the woman who cared for Jesus) or Sarah, wife of Abraham for the middle names. Or even Abigail (wife of King David, and the name literally means Father rejoices). I also like Sarah as a name, though I know a billion Sarah's...
Ack, I keep on coming up with names...Joy, Stella (always puts me in mind of the Star in the East), and Chloe.
I always would come up with a name and then check the Social Security Names data base to see how popular it was. I didn't want the Most Popular name either.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep thinking. Didn't ever have many names picked out for girls. We used the only one, ANSLEY for our only girl. Esther is one of my favorite biblical characters. Not sure it's one that people put on their kids these days. Maybe one of the judges like Deborah or Judith? I was always the old fashioned names: Beatrice or Eleanor. DH always hated when I got started on names.
It'll come to you. I'll put my mind to it and see if I get inspired.

How about Charlotte Joy?
ReplyDeleteThe name Sophia means wisdom and the name Karis in the Hebrew grace. I love the name Sophia Karis and would would have named a girl that. Sorry, I had to come back by and tell you! :-) What about the name Kailyn Joy?
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great names! I wanted to add... A friend and coworker is having a baby on Thursday and her name will be Sophia... so although I love that name, I don't think we will use it. And I love Faith for a middle name as well! That was the middle name we intended for Sasha... Aleksa Faith, so we're not sure how we feel about using it for the baby. Keep the names coming, thanks for all the input!! :)
ReplyDeletewith some help from my sister, I found it. :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nymbler.com/
This site looks pretty neat too:
http://www.babynamewizard.com/namipedia/advanced-name-finder
Also check out the name graph (NameVoyager) on the same site. It shows popularity trends over time and is quite interesting if you're into names.
How about Amy Grace?
ReplyDeleteSome other good girls' names: Annika, Gabrielle, Heather, Lauren, Madelyn, or Tori.
I told you my choice... a family passed on name.... Mom
ReplyDeleteI love the name Gemma. Perfect for a little gem.And not heard much in the states.
ReplyDeleteI have lost 2 cousins since becoming a mom... Blake and Bradley so I love the name Blakley. Brooklyn, Nichole, Abigail, Lauren or Juilana.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any specific names, but I do have a suggestion that you may appreciate.
ReplyDeleteI would avoid names that have the 'l' or 'r' sounds in them, as these are often hard for kids with speech delays to pronounce. It might me difficult if some of your children can't say the baby's name.
Ive been reading awhile and I think you have such a great family! Your new baby will be very well loved! My name suggestion is.Elizabeth 'LIZA' Grace. I think that Elizabeth may be your sister's name, but if you called her Liza it would be a bit different =) -Ashley
ReplyDeleteRachel is a beautiful name (it's my dd's). I love the middle name of Faith or Grace.
ReplyDeleteI also think Ruth or Lucy would be cute with your other kids' names. Or what about Viviene-it means spirited.
I think it needs to end with an "uh" vowel like Emma and Brianna so I would go with Sarah Grace!
ReplyDeleteHi Meredith!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a name for you, although I did like many that others have suggested...since we're talking names, I just wanted to share with you that we have decided to call our "Russell" Tanner Lee. No special reason for Tanner, other than we thought it was cute, Lee is my middle name and my step father's first name. We think the name fits that cute little face. :)
There is also Hannah, Eve, Leah, Hope, Bethany, Eden, Ester, Kezia (One of Job's daughteres of blessing), Moriah, Naomi, and Pricilla.
ReplyDeleteSo many, guess it depnds on what you like and the meaning you are looking for. God bless with chosing.
The Lord already knows what your little ones name will be, if all else fails ask Him :)
I like Faith, Grace, Joy for middle names.
ReplyDeleteAbigail/Abbey, Elyse/Allyse(variation of Elizabeth), Annika, Anya, Eden, Gabriella/Gabby, Janae/Jenay, Johanna, Jordan.
Elliana is Hebrew for 'God heard my prayer'.
ReplyDeleteHannah, Judah, Jordan, Rebekah, Rachel. SOme are more popular than others.
ReplyDeleteGood luck again.

We have 2 Peyton Grace's in our friend and family list. They are both are rarely called Peyton because Peyton Grace just comes out
ReplyDeleteso musically or natural. I also like the name Lacy Marie - we also
have 2 of those girls. The name came from the girls GreatGrandparents names - Lacy being Grandpa's name and Marie being Granny. Two different grandkids decided to Honor their
grandparents (deceased) by naming
their daughters. Good Luck!!! My daughter did not have a name until she was 30 days old - we could not
decide.
I like the name "Jordan".... not really gender specific though.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved (but it appears I will never get to use) Aleah or Aliya, or Aaliyah - or any way one would want to spell it! Or even just Leah. I like the reference to Leah in the Bible and Aliyah means rising or ascending(I think)in Hebrew. For a long time our possible girl's name was Aleah (or Aliyah) Grace. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteHow about Paige Leah
ReplyDeleteI'll be a second one to vote for Mary. I actually love Mary Elizabeth and call her MaryBeth. That was going to be a name we used for a girl but we ended up with 2 boys.
ReplyDeleteCannan, Ruthie, Ruth Ann, Laurel. i saw a t shirt the other day and they had a new baby and the shirts said i love my BABY RUTH. We all know the great story of the river cannan and Jordan. dig deep in the bible you will find many.

How about Hannah Claire or Samantha Ruth? Oh and Meredith, thank you for letting me use your poem with my church women's group. It was such a blessing and a really thought provoking discussion ensued. Also just wanted to say that I have been given my first foster child. A little girl who is a delight. Blessings,
ReplyDeleteCatherine Courtney
For some reason the first name that popped into my head was Courtney. It would go well with your other girls' names and would be nice with Faith or Grace too. You've had a lot of good suggestions!
ReplyDeleteI think Meredith would be a nice middle name too :-)
God bless!
Selah Faith
ReplyDeleteTimes have changed- Jennifer, Jessica and Amanda are not even in the top 50 names in the USA. Emma on the other hand...#1! The Social Security website is awesome for checking popularity. Also check Nymbler.com. You can plug in names that you like and it will offer suggestions. But you know- if you love a name, dont let popularity stop you.
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned Lucy and someone else Eden! he he (though I've never been a Lucy, just Lucille or Lu)
ReplyDeleteWhat about Maisy? Genevieve? Louisa? Matilda?
Ok, I'll get me coat...
There is a little girl that lives next door to the family I nanny for, and her name is Sara Kate. Her full name is Sara Katherine but she goes by Sara Kate. I never thought I would be fan of the double name first name trend, but I love the name Sara Kate, and for like others said, your baby feels like a Sara!!
ReplyDeleteNot knowing which names are popular, since I'm a foreigner, I still have some ideas :-)
ReplyDeleteMary Grace
Anna Grace

ReplyDeleteWe have a Mia, Marissa and Naomi all of which are great girl names and not so many girls with these names I have found. If we adopt another girl her name might be Trinity, or Jena.
ReplyDeleteOK, I have the name for you.... our pastor and his wife named their little girl that was born at the same time as Ella, Cana Grace, (Kay-na) as in the wedding in Cana of Galilee. I haven't heard it used as a name any other time and it fit in with their other kids, Eden and Elijah.
ReplyDeletemckenna is one I love and kendall. ruby too. no idea on the middle.
ReplyDeleteAva Grace
