The very very short version… is that we played with sweet little Aleksa today. We were given copies of paperwork (which is a big deal!) and we were greeted kindly. This was all with the deputy director because the director was out for the morning.
Then, we were met with some questions from the director in the afternoon. Nothing that we weren’t expecting, and quite honestly we were a bit concerned at first that it would be much like the last time…
Then, we toured the facility. It really is a NICE facility. We have always spoken highly of the way the place was upkept and that the staff including the director cared about the kids. Again we were very happy to see that the conditions have even improved in the last 2 1/2 years and when I asked to take photos, the director glowingly agreed. I now have many pictures of the facility!
As we parted ways for the day, still without the director’s signature and knowing already that we would be going back tomorrow, we were left with this statement: “She will be very blessed to grow up in such a great family and to have a good future.”
And then I tried really hard to draw back the tears. (yes, successfully :) ).
Tomorrow we will drive the 2 1/2 hours again with a copy of the laws because he wants to be sure that he is doing things right. Continue to pray for favor. The process will take weeks- we already knew that- but this first step of receiving his blessing appears to be favorable. Pray that the agreement continues tomorrow and that the initial signature can be obtained.
Tonight, we are counting our blessings! One baby step at a time…
how awesome for you!
