St. Patrick's Day

Reason #1 I don't love St. Patrick's Day:
We don't own many green clothes.

Reason #2 I don't love St. Patrick's Day:
We don't buy clothes to wear for one day, like shirts with a Shamrock on them ($5/shirt x 8 shirts gets expensive very quickly to wear once!)

Reason #3 I don't love St. Patrick's Day:
I get pinched.  By strangers.  So I become a hermit for the day.

Reason #4 I don't love St. Patrick's Day:
As I finished putting out the kids' clothes and checked on them all in bed and headed to my own bed for the night... I remembered that tomorrow is that dreaded day when their peers and teachers will get on their case if they're not wearing GREEN.  So I ditched the day's shirts and started over.

Reason #5 I don't love St. Patrick's Day:
Tomorrow when I wake up I will likely forget that it's St Patrick's Day and if I hadn't picked out the kids' clothes tonight, it would take me 3x as long tomorrow.  Since I'm blogging instead of getting my own clothes out, I will not remember to wear green-- if I even own it!

And the only reason that I love St. Patrick's Day...
I can just not clean the house for the day and blame it on the Leprechauns messing it up! :D

Happy St. Patrick's Day.  Don't pinch anyone.  It's just plain MEAN :)

  1. I as born in Ireland and lived in small town Ireland as a child. You know what the only thing we did for St Patrick's Day was? We went to mass in the middle of the week and there was music at the pub all day. The big parades in Dublin and Cork only started because of American tourists! I still don't wear green on St. Patrick's, and absolutely don't wear "Kiss me I'm Irish," even though I am. :)
