Hmm...

I got online at Samsclub.com and looked around a bit. They asked for me to choose a store to browse, I did. So I'm guessing that the products I see are the ones at the store... That would make sense, right? But now I have to wonder- is this the FULL inventory? Because I generally buy store-brand items, and so far I've found only 1 or 2 things that by buying in bulk I will actually save more than I do just buying the store brand at Wal-Mart. I don't see ANY store-brand items at Sams... so maybe that's the catch? I don't exactly want to spend $500 on groceries just so I don't have to shop as often. I'd rather do my weekly shopping and get just what I need at a time for the same price.

Even diapers and such, I buy Luvs and Huggies Overnights (Emma)... and neither of these are online for that store, and they're cheaper for me to buy at Wal-Mart than the other brands at Sams. Hmm... maybe I won't be making a trip to Sams this weekend after all? Or I could go and just pick up the 3 or 4 things that made any difference in price, but it doesn't seem worth the drive!

  1. Try Amazon for diapers. Now we get diapers for free for Charlie (it is a service they have here for kids with special needs who are still in diapers at age 3+), but we used to order our diapers through Amazon.com to get good deals, and you get free shipping on orders of $25 or more, so we didn't have to pay for that either. It was really nice. I think there is another place you can get diapers at a discount on-line. I want to say it it diapers.com or something? Also, I think the igive thing works for Amazon, right? So you could be giving to RR at the same time! :)

  2. To be honest, the only real savings we get from Sam's is my intuition razor blades and toilet paper. I will say they have the best cheese pizza you will ever eat and it is the cheapest. You call ahead and it they make it for you. It's like $7 for a large I think and would feed all of you with left overs. Sometimes we eat lunch there too. You get a large drink and two pieces of pizza for $2.47, or a huge hot dog and drink for $1.88. Also they have a sprint in our sams, buying phones are WAY cheaper. My daughter's was free and it was $40 online to order it. Our phones were $50 cheaper. It's not an extra drive for me, so I just stop by and pick up a few select things, but from what you said, it might not really be worth it for you. You need to get into couponing, and you would save. There's sites out there and they will compare all your stores and tell you the best deals. My friend often gets $40-50 of stuff for about $10. Also just suggesting angel food ministries. They are wonderful.

  3. we buy our diapers at sams. We get the member's mark (or whatever the Sam's brand is) I like them as well as huggies. They never have those online but most generally have them in the store. They usually carry huggies too but not always each size. We also use the MM pullups. Now sometimes they have the girl's version, sometimes the boy. So sometimes Sawyer wears pink pullups. But whatcha going to do. We us their wetwipes too. We never found our brand of formula there. But then again, we didn't use much since I breast fed. We get toilet paper and paper towels there as well as granola bars. We just usually buy the bulk items that we use a lot of. Randy likes their coffee okay too. It really is something you find good bargains on some things and not so much on other.

  4. They do have store brand--it's the Member's Mark. We buy their brand of dishwasher detergent among other things. I will say that we save our membership cost in buying 100% juice alone. :) We also stock up on toilet paper and paper towels there, although sometimes I might be able to get them cheaper with coupons. We also buy meat and cheese in bulk there.

  5. The store itself has more items. I know it's kinda irritating- I've looked for things on line too but never seem to find them on their site. It's hard to do price comparisons!

The milk there is way cheaper BTW

  6. In regards to Angel Food, I have used them for about a year to supplement our food. Check them out - if there is a church near you who does it, it is a good way to get extra veggies and meat, etc. stocked up in the freezer. It is a weeks worth of food for a family of 4 for $30. Not including fresh items. You can order as many units as you want, and there are no income guidelines. www.angelfoodministries.com
