And a prayer request...

Most adoptive parents fly through Frankfurt to get to and from Kiev.  At the moment, flights are being cancelled due to weather!  Please pray for those families coming in and out of there!

And begin praying that we are able to fly right on through when our flight home occurs!!  We REALLY want to make it home quickly when the time comes!

  1. Hey Meredith! I discovered something wonderful. You may already know this trick, but I had Eldon arrange for us to have a wheelchair escort. This not only had a wheelchair waiting for Axel at the end of every flight, but there was NO waiting in LINES for security check points, passport control in Chicago, etc. EASY PEASY!! The *only* problem I had was that our flight from Belgrade arrived late in Frankfurt, and I only had 15 minutes to get from one end of the airport to the other. They "escort" didn't show up to the plane, but there WAS a wheelchair waiting for us. Had the escort been there he/she could have called ahead to let the check in desk at our gate know we were on our way. Still there is NO WAY I could have made it through that airport with slow-as-molasses Axel if he'd been on foot, EVEN if we'd had plenty of time! So if you knew about that idea, sorry for repeating it. But there might be someone else who didn't know and could use it!

  3. Hi Meredith,

We live in Germany (not too far from Düsseldorf Airport) and I confirm that there is extremely heavy snowfall ongoing since this morning. I can't remember the last time that is snowed so much in a short time. Having adopted myself this year, I fully understand the desperate longing of adoptive parents to get the children out but I urge anyone not to take risks in the bad weather. Better arrive a day later but safe and alive! :-)

  4. We pray for you and all the other families on their way home, that you can arrive safely and right in time for christmas!!!
My brother-in-law lives in Frankfurt and he told me about traffic problems due to snow yesterday - but: German weather forecast looks not too bad: temperatures are increasing a little bit, snow is melting slowly. I hope Frankfurt Airport will be back to a sort of normal routine soon!

    Greetings from Germany!
