no.. we don't have a diagnosis

I got a few comments/emails that sounded like we had a diagnosis of Hirschprungs. We don't. We're just trying to figure out what COULD be wrong with Micah's intestinal track to cause such difficulty for him and that is something that several people suggested we ask about. Since I was unfamiliar with most of it, I asked for clarification. That's all!

We see the GI doctor on Tuesday and hopefully will have some plan of action to figure out what's going on with the little guy!

  2. I know by what you posted a few days ago you have tried a ton of things. What about a probiotic? It promotes good stomach/intestine bugs and helps get rid of the bad ones. It also is a help (and only a help) for dairy intolerance (unless it is severe). You can find probiotic at health/natural food stores. Hope you find a solution to make your little guy feel better soon ... and make your life easier!

  3. It's a rough one to deal with. I have Always had an extremely s.l.o.w bowel. As an adult, i have learned to add flax seed to my morning cereal to help. And, yes, it does the job, thank you. I started out with 2 teaspoons to my cereal and it was just fine. However, if I eat chocolate anything, I go up to 4 teaspoons.

I'd say, try it a little at a time and see what happens. Oh- I forgot- does he still eat thickened gruel through a bottle? I think it will still work since you probably have to cut the nipple size open a little more? Well- somethings gotta work for poor Micah.

The flax seed draws needed moisture into its self which helps the whole GI plumbing system. It's also very cheap! I buy it at Whole Foods store.
