02-29-2008 3:00pm Kramatorsk

We have birth certificates in hand and will be picking up the kids (hopefully) in just a few minutes! I'll stay in Kramatorsk for the weekend as we wait for my POA from Mike to translate (man I'm glad I brought that!) so that we can withdraw the money in the children's government accounts and get it donated to Antoshka (orphanage). Just over $3000 and it will go a LONG way here!

Monday we'll do that then head to Donetsk for passports, then hop the plane to Kiev! Becky Gantenbein (a friend from church who is willing to give up her week, vacation days, and fly around the world for me- WOW!) will be coming over on Monday which means she'll get to me by Tuesday. We'll have the kids' medicals on Tuesday and apply for the Visas. We hope to be on an airplane HOME on Thursday!

The end is near! :)

  5. Fly papers fly! so you three can fly and Becky too. Know you can't wait to have the kids in your care. It is hard to have to share them with others especially agencies and institutions. I remember. We move Duane tomorrow so all will be around to help when you get to this side of the earth. Prayers for the medical to be easy Love and hugs Mom

  24. Meridith,
I can't believe the end is so near. I know you & Mike have waited so patiently. I know that is hard. Especially knowing you have 2 older children waiting to see their mommy and new brother and new sister come home. Take care and I can't wait for the next update saying you are in Titusville, FL. I can't wait to see your whole family in person. Anyway, take care.

  30. I spoke with Meredith a few hours ago by phone, she was packing up. Her dad is with her, they are doing really well. They should be getting on the plane this very minute! 7 am Kiev time. 17 hours from now, after 3 flights, they SHOULD be home. Hopefully the flights will be ok...two little ones!! :)
