Yep, we are expecting :)

Despite my discreet announcement, I keep getting questioning emails and messages that sound like someone's afraid they heard wrong... :). So... Here goes....

We are expecting a new Cornish to arrive in the end of July or beginning of August!

God began to reveal His plans while I was in Bulgaria just after Thanksgiving with some more confirmation while flying home (morning sickness kicked in big time in the Munich...) and confirmed after arrival back in the USA. We are excited about the addition of a new baby to our family!

I have had some significant morning sickness... More so that I've experienced with previous pregnancies even. It has made things a bit more difficult around here, but with each new season of life we adjust to what God has for us and make it work!

Your prayers are appreciated for health for our family including God's new little creation... And if you have any morning sickness remedies, feel free to share :)

  1. congrats!!!

peppermint or ginger- tea, candy, whatever form you can find it in. great for morning sickness. not at the same time though, probably

my sister swears by her magnetic bracelet when pregnant to get rid of morning sickness. I've never tried it.

eating smaller protein full meals helps a lot of people

some people just cant get water down. find what you can drink and drink lots of it. coke, sprite, gatorade, tea, juice, whatever your body can handle. you can always cut it with water to cut down on sugar

    good luck!

  2. Congratulations! Excited to see how God works through this new development! You might try ginger pills for morning sickness. I know they work for carsickness and air sickness, they would be worth a try for morning sickness.

  3. Congratulations!!! So excited for you. I had horrible morning sickness with my one pregnancy. I don't have any suggestions, but you are in my prayers.

  4. This is going to sound odd coming from me, but don't drink (anything) when you eat and vice versa. Leave 30 minutes in between eating and drinking. I found it on a website when I had horrible all-day sickness (before I miscarried) and it actually did work. What I did was drink on the half hour and eat on the hours, so I made sure there was 30 minutes in between drinks vs. food. No idea why, but it worked for me!

  5. Congratulations! I had horrible all day sickness with one of my pregnancies. The motion sickness wrist bands worked well and having crackers or something by my bed that I could eat before moving in the morning. Also make sure to eat about every 2 hours and that will help big time!

  6. I had all day sickness for 5 months with my last one. Cinammon discs ( red hots) are the only thing that worked for me. All I had to do was suck on one and within a few minutes I was better. Peppermint tea also worked, but the tea made me have to pee even more than normal pregnancy. So happy for your family and the soon to be new addition. Praying for you all!

  8. I'd try the motion sickness bands and B6 50mg twice a day. Also if nothing works, have your doctor give you Zofran. I hate taking meds, but it works wonders. On the days I couldn't even open my eyes or get off the couch I would take a half of one and I could function again.

  9. First, CONGRATS!!! That's awesome!
I agree with Courtney, eating and drinking separately, if you are blessed enough to be able to see or smell food without puking, that is.
I had hyperemesis gravidarum with all 4 pregnancies. The first two were the worst. My first I almost lost, despite three different anti-nausea meds. Zofran wasn't one of them though. I didn't get that till my third pregnancy and I LOVED IT. My first I would say 90% of my calorie intake was sipping very cold Coca-Cola (no other brand works, for me at least). It helped tremendously. Eating ice also helped me. Eating what I craved when I craved it helped with the second pregnancy, too. The red and white peppermints also helped me A LOT with the third and fourth. I always kept them with me. ($1 for a giant bag at Walmart!)... Coke, Mints and Zofran, the perfect pukey preggo cocktail!

Praying for you. I can empathize. It SUCKS! I don't like that word usually, but that is really the only word to describe it. I am hoping it eases up soon.

    ((hugs)) Carissa

  10. Congrats!! My nausea has been so intense this time. I've been taking Unisom, actually the Walgreens generic. Just the 25mg regular tablet. My doc said I could take up to two tablets a day. Start out with a half tablet though, and work up. Taking a whole tablet right from the start gave me an awful hangover. It will make you a little drowsy too. Hope you feel better soon!
