Pictures from Tuesday (24 hrs post-op)

 003 002004 007 010 013

Emma has had a bit of a rough day and has cried a lot.  It's so sad when you can't hold and cuddle the little ones when they cry.  We put an MP3 player inside Spinoza (the bear has speakers and comes with a CD player) so that it will run continuously even when we can't be in the room.  It has some Andrew Phillips music and some other songs by various artists including Jim Brickman.  Emma really seems to like the music and it helps mask the hospital noises.  She's also listened to some classical CD's and the Spinoza CD today as well.

Emma's been awake a lot today and keeps crossing her legs and cracking up the nurses.  She's so tiny to be so prissy, but boy can she be!

My little love has won over the nurses already and she wasn't even awake yet...  In addition to a teddy bear brought in by someone that just saw her and fell in love this morning, our nurse from yesterday brought her in a lamb that moves just a little bit and winds up to play "Jesus Loves Me".  She's the nurse that was prepped for this child that might not live post-op and that might be going back into surgery... and what she had was an easy day with a thriving little girl.  She saw the song and said she just had to buy it for Emma :)

I'm headed back up in an hour or so to meet the night nurse then I'll come back to the RMH for the night.
