Today we spent the day with Andrea and her family again. We had a wonderful time. What a great family!! Andrea is so driven and passionate for these kids and the ministry that began in the front room of her house had meant LIFE for my kids and I'm so glad she has done all that she has for Reece's Rainbow. Her husband Rich was great to spend time with and I'm grateful that he's allowed Reece's Rainbow to continue and grow as it has! Reece, he's such a snuggle! He decided that Micah's a great toy! Brianna's his little girl friend, all her little boyfriends out there better watch out because Reece kissed her every single time he saw her! LOL And I'm sure she'll have some fighting to do for this little mascot man, but what a cute pair those two made!!
Owen and Kristopher had a good time playing together and are only about 6 months different in age. Surprisingly, they spent a good FULL 2 days together and got along great!
Brianna thought the stairs at the Roberts' home were an awesome thing and wanted to keep going up and up and up LOL. Micah liked the hard wood floors and wanted to bounce every ball off of them :) Emma loved her snuggles with Mrs. Andrea and even reached over for her when we were getting ready to leave dinner tonight.
Believe it or not, the TEN of us went to Outback for dinner and all 6 kids were wonderful! Micah needed a bottle but once we figured out that was the problem he was great the rest of the time. Reece is a great eater and sat so well the entire time! Kristopher and Owen were their sweet "big" 4 yr old selves (ok, Owen's ALMOST 4...) and even Brianna ate dinner (crackers, but she ATE). Emma played and giggled but refused to show off that big-girl eating stuff she's been doing.
I have to say, though I spend many hours each week on e-mail and IM with Andrea, I like her even more now that I've met her in real life!! She's such a great mom to her boys and voice for our kids! And it was also great to put real personalities with her boys instead of just the occasional photo and stories of what they're up to. Both of them are so different (but WONDERFUL) from what I'd pictured and it's great to know the "real" them!
Ok, it's off to bed for me and I'll share pictures in a few days. Tomorrow's a full day of driving to get back home after doing a few things to freshen up the house we've been staying at (you know, sheets, that sort of thing so they don't have to do it when they get home). We've been so blessed to stay at the home of our friends Bev and Dave that I stayed with in Ukraine as they adopted their 4 yr old daughter from the same orphanage as my two kiddos. They're in Orlando this week and entrusted us with their home. It's been a great home-away-from-home! God has surely laid out our paths before us and we've been blessed at every turn!
Yay! I'm so happy you got to meet Andrea in person. What a blessing she's been to so many kids AND to the forever families that found them!
