4 days...

Really? Am I REALLY leaving in 4 days?? It's hard to believe that this week is here! Today was a few errands which were EASY due to the fact that Mike's mom came to help me get my Christmas decorations put away and came with us to do them. THANKS PEGGY!! Instead of standing in the bank trying to sign traveler's checks with one hand while holding Brianna and making sure Kristopher didn't do somersaults into the people in line- I got to do it alone with the kids watching Thomas in the car with Grandma :)

So the list has slimmed. POA's for childcare and for our house sale are done. Travelers checks/cash is finished, the Christmas stuff (except the lights outside) is put away, I picked up the drawers to the dresser my parents bought and Mom fixed up for me. It has six drawers so half will be for each kid- and it fits in the closet so shirts can hang over top. The girls will be sharing a room since Aleksa has never been by herself-- probably ever! She has a daybed set up in "the girls' room" :) I can't wait to have her home!!

I will share pictures soon... I'm working on taking some nice ones to make a photo album for our trip.

My adventures this morning included attempting to put some child locks on cabinets in the kitchen just as an extra little peace-of-mind while I'm gone. The one under the sink was the most important one because it has some small pieces under there. So I started with that one. Big mistake! There is no 'middle bar' between the two cabinet doors on that one, so the template for installing the tot-locks wasn't going to do me any good. I LOVE these locks tho, so I was determined to reengineer it to find a way for it to work! I finally turned one piece upside down, installed it at a 90 degree angle, and was able to know it will work. Then I drilled the holes and realized I was a TINY bit off and it wasn't going to work. So I went at it again! It took me FORTY minutes to install this one little lock. Of course the next one will be easier and all the rest that I'll do will have the middle bar so they're 5 min a piece. But man- 40 minutes on one little lock! As if I had nothing better to do... :)

  1. I say you just leave the lights up on the house...what a beautiful homecoming suprise for Aleksa! :) I am sure she will just love them! Of course, then you might be stuck leaving them up all year long....
